Schizophrenic Summer

Schizophrenic summer, it can’t make up it’s mind
Whether it’s going to rain, whether it’s going to shine
Put’s everyone on a bummer, because most of the time
You’ll feel you’re going insane, as the weather, it’s not fine

When you need it to be and perfect when you don’t
You’re sitting in the airless office and sweltering on the phone
To some obnoxious customer and your stuffy boss just won’t
Let you go til the clock turns 5pm, eventually you get home

As the end of the long week finally arrives
Husbands planning a w’end away with their wives
Sun’s been shining all week, so they surmised
That it’d be okay to go, but are caught by surprise

As it starts to rain again…while in the middle of July.
You curse the weather gods and ask them why
This schizophrenic summer continues to justify
It’s erratic behaviour, as seasonal norms it defies
